Resources for SVCC Leaders

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is...serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement;...if it is to lead, do it diligently...
Romans 12:6-8

Summary: The Gospels draw us into the narrative world of God in Christ by the power of the Spirit so that we might "see" the God who is at work in the world for the sake of the world. God's work through Jesus in the Spirit calls us to participate in the mission of God as disciples of Jesus. By this, in the power of the Spirit, we are conformed to the image of Christ, who is the image of God. Through reading the Gospels, we hear the story of Jesus, confess his identity, and are apprenticed into the life of Jesus and become disciples of Jesus.
Speaker: John Mark Hicks has taught full-time in higher education among churches of Christ since 1982 and is currently Professor of Theology at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. He has taught in over 40 states and 20 countries around the world. He has authored, co-authored, edited, or contributed to over 30 books as well as contributing to both academic and popular journals. He is married to Jennifer and shares five living children and six grandchildren with her.
